Dr. Chetvertkov earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow, Russia. He then obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. During his Ph.D., Dr. Chetvertkov worked on his dissertation titled "Principal Component Analysis-Based Anatomical Motion Models for Use in Adaptive Radiation Therapy of Head and Neck Cancer Patients."

After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Chetvertkov completed his residency in Therapeutic Medical Physics at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Before joining MHP Radiation Oncology Institute, he was a faculty member of the radiation oncology department at Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh, PA for three years, actively participating in clinical research and resident education. He is board certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and an active member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) and the American Society of Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
