Melissa L. Wilson, MS, MA, CMD, R.T.(T)(ARRT) has a multidisciplinary viewpoint having started her career as a radiation therapist then medical dosimetrist, and now medical physicist.  She graduated with a B.S. in Radiation Therapy Technology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI; M.A. in Humanities from Central Michigan University in Troy, MI; M.S. in Radiological Physics from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI, and completed her medical physics graduate research project in collaboration with Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI.

She is extremely active in several professional societies as a working group member, committee member, member of the board of directors, or Society delegate for the following:  AAMD, AAPM, GLC-AAPM, ASRT, ASTRO, MROQC, and MSRT (former chairperson).

Melissa is involved in special clinical procedures including: LDR and HDR brachytherapy, radiopharmaceuticals (unsealed sources), and SBRT.

She participates in national research and clinical studies and is a strong supporter of radiation safety.  She was a selected participant in the ASRT Online Advocacy Academy Course, has been invited to speak at conferences and in the college classroom, has contributed to academic curriculum and code of ethics revisions, and has co-authored numerous abstracts, posters, and various journal publications.

Melissa maintains CMD (MDCB) board certification, R.T.(T)(ARRT) certification and registration credentials, CTEP NCI RCR AP registration, CITI - GCP and Human Subjects Research training, and is an AMP on the US NRC materials license.
